CAARR is a non-profit membership organization which serves as the principle voice for social model recovery programs throughout California.  Its members include:  recovery homes, sober living environments, neighborhood recovery centers and social   detoxification programs.  Services to members include advocacy for social model programs at the federal, state and local levels of government, as well as in the community.

graduates-1The mission of the California Association of Addiction Recovery Resources (CAARR) is to encourage the development, expansion, and continuing quality of alcohol and other drug programs in California through advocacy, education, training and positive role modeling.

Since CAARR's formation in 1972, they have provided quality training and technical assistance to programs and individuals through state and county contracts and have been involved in successfully staging two conferences a year for membership, with an emphasis on training.

Mission Statement:  It is the mission of the Certified Addiction Specialist Professionals Association (CASPA) to promote an environment of advocacy, unity and service among its members, also to establish and develop networks and relationships among public and private organizations centered on the alcohol and other drugs, recovery/treatment professions.

Today is the first day of California’s 2010-11 fiscal year and nobody is surprised even one iota that, once again, we enter it without a budget in place. The Assembly and Senate each held floor sessions today, voted on some bills, and adjourned for a month. The Leadership of the 2 Houses will apparently stay in Sacramento, along with a few key Members of the Budget Committees, to try to make some of the decisions that have to be made. But as of today, the State has no authority to pay many of its bills.

    CAARR has developed minimum standards for SLE’s based on input from community program providers and consumers. We have also developed a registration process for homes meeting these standards as evidenced by an on-sight inspection.
